A Charity Stroll!
Some of our team here at Markus are going for a gentle stroll to raise some money for Cystic Fibrosis -

We are The Dorset Dawdlers, and we are training to take part in Great Strides 65, a brand new event from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which invites teams of 4-6 people to undertake a sponsored walk from Newlands Corner near Guildford to Shoreham by Sea along the Downs Link on Saturday 19 May 2012.The walk is 40 miles long (65km) and the participants have 17 hours to complete the challenge!
The team, who are all from Shaftesbury and Gillingham, comprises 6 walkers:- Mike Rutter (Production Manager @ Markus), Martin and Mandy Drake (Mandy is ex-Markus), Paul Miller, Sophie Matthews (Sales Coordinator @ Markus) and Leanne Edwards, and Alison Rutter (QA @ Markus) who is driving our support vehicle.
It is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited diseases affecting over 9,000 people. Over two million people in the UK carry the faulty gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis - around 1 in 25 of the population. Only half of those living with Cystic Fibrosis are likely to live past their late 30s.
